Why is HIIT better than cardio?

While steady-state cardio, like jogging, swimming or cycling at a moderate pace, does help with fat burning, HIIT is a much more efficient and effective way to achieve fat loss, improve cardiovascular health, and increase strength.

Here’s the science:
1️⃣ Increased calorie burn: Studies show that HIIT can burn 25–30% more calories than traditional cardio in the same time frame.  The intense bursts of effort during HIIT lead to higher calorie expenditure during and after exercise.
2️⃣ Afterburn effect: After your workout, your body continues to burn calories at an elevated rate as it works to return to its normal resting state (this is called excess post-exercise oxygen consumption, or EPOC).
3️⃣ Improved metabolic health: HIIT has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, glucose metabolism, and cardiovascular health, helping lower your risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

In short: HIIT gives you maximum results in minimum time.
